The New York Oud, an ambitious fragrance that aims to evoke the multi-sensory emotions associated with the brand's home city, starts off with fruity, spicy notes of red plum, saffron and orange zest, before delving into a heady heart of red rose, orris - the untamed "alter ego" of the more refined and recognisable iris - and woody patchouli. The base is solid and reassuringly earthy, much like the city itself, with honey, musk and vetiver.
The bottle's design, incorporating Bond No. 9's signature star-shaped silhouette, boasts flashy, laser-etched engravings of the label's token insginia, and is rendered here in a smoky gunmetal grey with glints of gold—the colors of the dusky New York street-scape.
