Christopher Bailey's Prorsum shows always elevate the Burberry aesthetic to new levels and Spring/Summer 2013's matte versus shine meditation was no different. For the Burberry guy who might not be ready for a mylar-inspired neon trenchcoat, though, there's the brand's London and Brit lines offering less forward-thinking pieces still very much grounded in the signature modern military-inspired style. For Brit S/S '13, Bailey takes the classic trench and parkas into sportier territory, executing each in lighter weight nylons and cottons, paired back to slim trousers and horizontal striped graphic knits. Also popping up are some killer leather jackets, especially the moto-inspired ones cut as sharp as a Prorsum suit. The palette keeps to a few select colors but Bailey gives the whole line depth by playing with hues of blue and red and moves it all into earth tones to make up a set of gear for the safari of everyday life.
