RIM is set to launch a Porsche designed BlackBerry on 27th October in Dubai, possibly under the name“Knight”. The luxurious BlackBerry Knight is the same as a Bold but with obvious aesthetic changes, the keys have been angled, which is very Porsche Design and will probably carry a hefty price tag. A lot of people called the phone hideous, but I somewhat like it. What do you think of it? Add Comment The perfect toy for a tropical home, the C Seed 201 stands as the world's biggest outdoor viewable LED TV screen that's functional as well as cool - when not in use, it will fold into itself and can be stored underground. The Porsche Design Studios-designed behemoth boasts a 201-inch backlit LED screen. When the TV is not required, it is stored underground in a waterproof shaft. The touch of a button on the TV’s remote control opens the lid of the storage shaft. A pillar-shaped support column then rises to as high as 15 feet. Once the stand reaches its set height, seven large screen panels unfold to form the 201-inch LED television. The set can be rotated up to 270 degrees to capture the optimal viewing angle. It takes less than a minute from the remote-control activation to the TV being ready for use, a marvelous feat of engineering when you realise the screen alone weighs 1.4 tons. Design wonder aside, how does the TV perform? Not too shabby at all - the water-resistant screen’s 100,000 HZ refresh rate is 500 times the performance of a standard TV set. It's also the only LED TV screen with a six-millimeter pixel pitch, a low-pixel rate that ensures comfortable viewing even on the brightest of days. Crafted from “an original ribbed cylinder from the early air-cooled 911 models”, this Porsche Classic Cooler comes with an anodized aluminum base. Designed by the Porsche Engineering Services, Germany, the bottle cooler sports a laser-drawn Porsche Crest. The cooler without the bottle is priced at Purchase: Porsche Price: $680 |
